SlyVinyl Has Evolved. Introducing The Hot Mic!

O

ver the past ten years, SlyVinyl has grown from a one-man operation into a team of contributors from around the world. In 2013 SlyVinyl became a record label as well, releasing its first limited edition record, Blue Sky Black Death’s Noir. Since then, SlyVinyl has released 23 limited edition records, with many more coming in the future. As SlyVinyl Records grew, so did the site. We began to cover music news, concert reviews and photos, artist interviews, festival news and more. With the success of the record label and increasing diversification of content it became clear that it was time to evolve. SlyVinyl Records will continue to release unique and mind-blowing limited records and the editorial side of the site will be spun off into a new online music magazine called The Hot Mic (thehotmic.co).

The Hot Mic is run by a group of SlyVinyl’s editorial leadership. It’s more than just a new site, it is a continuation of the celebration of our passion for music that drew us all to Sly in the first place . As part of that continuation, SlyVinyl’s editorial archive will relocate to The Hot Mic, along with tons of new and exciting content!

Unlike a lot of music journalism, we don’t claim to be experts on anything. We’re not here to tell you what to like or what not to like. No gatekeeping here. Instead, our goal is to create a community of like-minded individuals who are as eager to hear about your favorite band as we are to talk about ours. We’re here to open readers’ ears and minds to as much music as possible. In the simplest terms, we’re just a handful of music lovers doing what we love to do – talk about music!
