Joywave at the Newport Music Hall
Joywave, hailing from Rochester, New York, can’t help themselves. You never know what they are going to do on stage. When you attend their show, you have to be on your toes or you’ll miss half of everything. Joywave’s performance at the Newport Music Hall on September 13 as part of their Permanent Pleasure tour.was as much a comedy show as it was a concert, with the band’s trademark humor adding a delightful layer to an already fun evening. Daniel Armbruster’s voice, a powerful mix of vulnerability and grit, soared over the layered instrumentation.
As a casual fan, you’ll realize how many of their songs you know and love. As a serious fan, you’ll be delighted by the setlist — a mix of tracks from their discography, blending older favorites with new material from their latest album Brain Damage. The crowd experienced the live debut of “Traveling at the Speed of Light.” and the supremely popular, fan favorite coined “Double Destruction”.
